The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka is organizing a Film Festival to mark the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture 2025, under the theme “ඒ මම වෙන්නත් පුළුවන්” (It Could Be Me).

This event aims to raise public awareness on issues of torture and inhumane treatment through the powerful medium of cinema.

📍 Venue: Tower Hall Theatre, Colombo 01

The evening session—open to the general public—will feature a screening of the critically acclaimed Telugu film Jai Bhim (2021). The film compellingly portrays the harsh realities of custodial violence and highlights the vital role of legal professionals in the fight for justice.

(A special morning session will be held for schoolchildren.)
